About Us

Ascenda Dance Academy is led by Alice McDermott, an experienced teacher, choreographer and mentor who is passionate about sharing the opportunity of dance with the community.
She trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, achieving a Ba Hons in Ballet Education. Here she gained expertise in child development, pedagogical practices, choreography and dance practices in multiple fields; learning from leading experts in the dance world.

Alice has extensive experience in teaching ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and strength and flexibility training across private and public sectors in London and Surrey. Alice has focused on training, developing and teaching young children from 18 months old up to adults, creating an encouraging and inviting environment suitable for learning at all stages of life. With Miss Alice, your child's needs will always be met and they will be helped to progress in their dance education at their own pace.
